ADJUSTABLE HOUSE TO THE SUN, IN EACH SEASON OF THE YEAR!

There are homes designed for cold climates, which allow you to keep warm, as well as homes for hot climates that allow the passage of air through the divisions in order to ventilate the room. However, these two aspects were never brought together, until now! A couple of London architects developed a “foldable” house which turns into 8 different settings, exposing themselves automatically to the best climatic conditions of the moment.



During the winter, the House takes up a square formation, thus increasing thermal mass, and in the summer the house “blossoms” like a flower allowing light and optimizing the ventilation of the dwelling. The project, entitled D * Dynamic, was inspired by the work of mathematician Henry Dudeney, from the early 20th century, who found a way to dissect a square and rearrange its parts in an equilateral triangle. For example, during the summer, the room is oriented to the East and follows the rising Sun through a series of sensors. This rotating house ensures better sun exposure, thus allowing generating energy through solar panels on it installed. This energy is then used to move the modules of the House, warm or cool spaces and generate hot water.

The layout consists of two bedrooms, an open-plan living area and a bathroom, but can be adapted to meet the needs of different situations of life. In addition to moving to provide more light, or expand the view, the house is also designed to save money on heating and avoid waste of energy. The majority of the house would remain stationary on foundations, where the plumbing, electrical and services would be built.



Each of the components of the house would be sealed from the elements fixed to maintain the internal spaces weatherproof, and when the modules are switched on, a sealed connection similar to a car door that would allow transition from one room to the other.

This totally innovative concept is estimated at 2 million pounds (2.279.300,00 €), but its creators believe that, if it is possible to produce on a large scale, prices will come down to £ 800,000.00 (912.080,00 €).
