HOUSE OF ENERGY – THE FIRST BUILDING WITH THE AWARD OF “PREMIUM PASSIVE HOUSE” IN THE WORLD

House of Energy is a building of three floors of commercial and residential use. With a spent on heating of only 8 kWh/m2, it has an exceptionally energy efficiency, thus becoming one of the most sustainable buildings in the world. To generate power, it has a photovoltaic system of 250 square meters on the roof.

The House of Energy has a primary renewable energy consumption of 21 kWh/TFAm2/year, far less than required by the “Premium Passive House”, 30 kWh/TFAm2/year. This difference serves to balance the fact that the House of Energy is situated a little below 120 kWh/TFAm2/year, minimum value required for “Premium Passive House” in relation to the annual energy production.
As the passive house has triple glazed windows, excellent insulation, great surroundings, besides being a building practically free of thermal bridges, it has a ventilation system with heat recovery.

For the low need for heating and hot water supply, it uses a geothermal heat pump. The remaining energy and electricity is supplied by the photovoltaic installation and the overproduction is directed to the power grid.
