Smart Cities
With regard to Smart Cities, DDN will be able to provide services to Governments and Municipalities:
• In supporting the decision on the strategy for digital transformation of the urban environment and eventual definition of priority areas of intervention to achieve the defined objectives;
• In the follow-up and coordination of the implementation projects of the solutions defined by the client, including technical opinions, comparative analysis of the proposed solutions, promotion and coordination of the involvement of the different stakeholders and management of the business process of the solutions to be implemented;
• In the definition of Smart City solutions that respond to the needs or objectives defined by the municipalities in the most diverse areas of life in an urban environment, such as, infrastructures and resources, e-governance and society, mobility, environment and climate resilience and Security and Management of Risk.
In this context, when implementing a Smart City, should be considered systems for:
• Resource and Infrastructure Management: Application of sensors to detect leaks in hydraulic systems, sensors in street lighting to reduce energy consumption, etc.;
• E-governance, Inclusion and Participation: Development of virtual "Service Desk" services for municipal services; creation of direct means of communication between citizens and the local government, such as, for example, an application, or the installation of digital kiosks in cities, to receive input from citizens;
• Environment and Climate Resilience: Measurement of pollution and noise levels, for example, using sensors;
• Safety, Management and Risk Prevention: Video surveillance with Artificial Intelligence to detect accidents or dangerous situations on the public road, which allows a faster activation of the emergency services;
• Systems and Data Integration: City Information Modeling (a concept similar to BIM, but extended to an entire City) and Digital Twins, a digital twin of the city that allows to simulate its operation, considering the other conditions of wear or reaction of the materials, equipment and infrastructures of the City.
Discover some of the solutions and technologies to apply in a smart city, in which DDN has the know-how and can ensure it for your Project:
Real-Time Traffic Monitoring
Real-time traffic monitoring is a system based on cloud technology that can be operated or used by different stakeholders. It allows estimating future traffic on public roads, caused by the construction of a certain infrastructure, as well as assessing the suitability of construction sites to traffic, for large-scale works and for the various phases of the work. Among other functions, the following stand out:
• Congestion forecast and travel times;
• Support for variable construction signage;
• Security alerts for smartphones;
• Vehicles connected with detection of objects and people;
• Alarm systems for accident prevention.
Mobility Solutions
We help the community to move in a sustainable and efficient way, using the latest technology, including virtual reality, XD modeling and drones. We provide technical advice for equipment such as roads, railways, tunnels and motorways. Our experts combine innovation, technology and experience to:
• Plan and provide technical support;
• Schedule and carry out construction management;
• Define alternative mobility methods;
• Protect critical infrastructure.
Satellite and Georeferencing
When the location is remote and access is difficult, it may be necessary to use satellite information, whether for traffic control, monitoring access to the site, or simply knowing the topographic conditions of the place. Using the latest technologies, we enable access to satellite images for previous and future dates with the respective display and treatment of data, as well as the availability of the desired information in the most diverse formats.
Cyber Development and Data Protection
We support and represent the development of technology and intelligence in our projects. We empower our customers, employees and partners with the state of the art of cybernetics in the field of construction. We protect and encrypt information critical to the exploitation of any investment, maintaining the speed, openness and interoperability of the data flow.
Cybersecurity systems become obsolete in very short time intervals, and a strong initial investment in these types of systems is often inappropriate. The best recommendations are to build a flexible system, which can receive periodic updates, without jeopardizing the infrastructure's operation. We provide technical advice on the adoption of the best cybersecurity solution for the type of business and infrastructure of our customers.
